Kicking

Could you clarify the kicking rules , punt extra point field goal on rushing not being able to rush please. In our 4th grade game a kid was able to punt well and kick well and wasn’t for sure those rules

There are no restrictions on rushing the punter or kicker on FG or PAT attempts. It is live football.  The only restriction is with direct contact on the center, but that applies at all ages and levels and isn’t special for INFC.

3rd/4th grade has the 20 yard automatic punt that allows the offense to “declare” a punt and the ball is moved ahead 20 yards (but can’t be moved inside the opponents 20 yd line) and given to the opposing team.  However if the offensive team decides to actually punt the ball, rushing is perfectly legal.

Would have been nice for the refs to know. We were told we couldn’t rush if the team declared they were punting so we stood there and watched until he kicked

Next time that happens, call a timeout and go discuss it with the refs. If you know you are wrong ask to have them call the director on the spot. If you end up being right, I believe you get your timeout back. I’ve seen it happen at least twice.

Also, I definitely have a folder of screenshots of this thread when myself or anyone asks a good question like this. That way I can pull it up and show the refs in real time. It’s helped me on more than one occasion with a ref that wasn’t calling it how the rule states

Thats suprising they didnt let you rush.  I thought those guys did a great job at glenpool Saturday but i didn't see the plays you were talking about. but you should definitely be able to rush.

BK99 - spoke to the referee and he admitted he screwed that up one (said it was on a punt)
he told me he just had a brain fart (his exact words)
Either way, you can definitely rush on punts, field goals and extra points - sorry we screwed that one up.
